Jean-Georges Vongerichten joins Eden Rock St Barths as Executive Chef

Luxury hotel, art gallery, recording studio, Eden Rock St Barths has a new attraction as Jean-Georges Vongerichten, joins the hotel as Executive Chef.  The first collaboration of its kind on the island of St Barths, Vongerichten will be responsible for the hotel’s two renowned restaurants - Sand Bar and On the Rocks.  
  At Eden Rock St Barths, one of the best known luxury hotels in the Caribbean there’s a relaxed, barefoot ambience at the aptly named Sand Bar which is open for breakfast and lunch.  Vongerichten’s menu includes exotic salads - Local Fish Tartare, Avocado, Radish, & Ginger Marinade and St. Barths Lobster Salad, Avocado, Tomato & Champagne Dressing - whole-wheat pizzas with Black Truffle and Fontina Cheese, grilled local fish and other wonderfully-crafted fare.
  On The Rocks with Jean-George is set on a stage and surrounded by water; an evening affair, it features a look-see kitchen, three levels of dining, a bar and spectacular views over St. Jean Bay.  The menu reflects Jean-Georges’ noted use of exotic and aromatic flavours; Local Lobster with Toasted Garlic Drawn Butter, Basil, Lemon, and Thai Coleslaw; Sea Scallops, Ponzu Sauce & Noodles and Beef Tenderloin with Soy Miso Butter and Carrots.  In addition, DJ Florent spins sounds to pair with cool cocktails served with fresh fruits and spices such as ginger, thyme and yuzu.   Try a Cherry Yuzu Old Fashioned (Bourbon Maker’s Mark, Brandied Cherry, Yuzu); a Kumquat Mojito (Light Rum Havana Club, Mint, Kumquat) or a Chili-Chili Bang Bang (Jalapeno infused Tequila Cuervo, Passion, Lime).

  Michelin-three-star chef, Vongerichten, has restaurants across the globe including Jean Georges in New York and the Spice Market in London.  A seasonsed traveller, the native Frenchman who was born in Alsace, France has long enjoyed his visits to the Caribbean island of St. Barths and draws inspiration for Eden Rock’s ever-changing menus from his travels around the world.
  Fabulous Feasts at Eden Rock-St Barths: the five-night stay starts from €3025 per room and includes breakfast and five beachside lunches or sunset dinners or a combination of the two (drinks not included).  V.I.P airport transfers, welcome drinks and a car to explore the island are also included. Based on two sharing and valid from 1st May to 31st July 2012.
