Superyachts are now all about adventure as well as luxury

As luxury travel becomes more about experience, adventure and excitement rather than simply gold bath taps and excellent service around the pool, the super-luxury market is now looking to offer clients something similar.
Frozen fish: Big Fish in the Antarctic
So, according to Y.CO (www.ycoyacht.com), a luxury superyacht company based in Monaco and Coulson Street in Chelsea, an increasing number of charter clients are looking for new, adventurous experiences. As a result superyachts like Big Fish, the only luxury expedition vessel equipped to circumnavigate the globe - Antarctica, The Galapagos or the Amazon as well as The Caribbean and the French Riviera – are becoming increasingly popular.
Superyacht owners and charter operators are relocating their vessels to far-flung corners of the globe to entice the growing band of guests tired of cruising round the same old waters.   According to Y.CO, though, exploration to exotic and out of the way locations can still be achieved in the utmost comfort and style.
The first of a new generation of superyachts - Big Fish is currently on its maiden voyage circumnavigating the globe. Especially designed for adventure, the 45-metre superyacht accommodates up to 10 guests. It’s also designed to be as environmentally responsible as possible. All exterior decking is anti-skid granite - more environmentally friendly than traditional teak. It is also the first superyacht to accommodate guests in high heels, so don’t forget to pack your Jimmy Choos.
Big Fish is the vision of Richard Beattie, an entrepreneur, yachtsman and scuba diver, with a sense of adventure and Big Fish is named after the best-selling fantasy adventure novel and Grammy-nominated film starring Albert Finney and Ewan McGregor. The book’s author, Daniel Wallace, was a close friend of Beattie’s.
