Piper-Heidsieck Rare Vintage 1998 magnum completes Bompas & Parr’s adventure hamper

This Christmas, Bompas & Parr is launching an Adventure Hamper available exclusively at Selfridges from 15 December. Hampers used to be the ultimate exploration accessory and this particular hamper, containing a Magnum bottle of Piper-Heidsieck Rare Vintage 1998, is meant to inspire elegant and chic adventures all over the world.
After the House was founded in 1785 by Florens-Louis Heidsieck, the champagne quickly gained popularity thanks to the patronage of Queen Marie-Antoinette, becoming the official purveyor to 14 royal courts including those as far away as Siam and China! Today, Piper-Heidsieck is one of the world’s most awarded champagnes. London's International Wine Challenge has awarded Piper-Heidsieck's celebrated chef de caves Régis Camus the title of "Champagne Winemaker of the Year" six times, a distinction he has held for the last five consecutive years.

Christian Holthausen, International House Communications Director for Maison Piper-Heidsieck, said “Only seven vintages of Rare have been released since the very first vintage in 1976: 1979, 1985, 1988, 1990, 1998, 1999 and 2002. We loved the 1998 Rare vintage so much that we bottled it exclusively in magnums. This is an extraordinary champagne for all sorts of adventures!"
The Bompas & Parr Adventure Hamper also contains an array of provisions and equipment to inspire adventure and to kick-start your Christmas celebrations! Next to the Magnum of the Piper-Heidsieck Rare Vintage 1998, you will find an adventure manual with food recipes and wilderness advice, along with a Rescue Flare for emergencies or starting parties, an Ice axe to climb a glacier or carve ice for cocktails, and a flag of Conquest.
The Bompas & Parr Adventure Hamper will be available at Selfridges from 15 December for £699.99 each in a limited edition of five. One lucky hamper owner will be invited to join the Bompas & Parr crew on their Arctic adventure
